I still need about one more week and she will be set but let me
tell you I am sore as hell and for all the wonderful souls that
helped.

May god bless you.

NIKKI SAYS: Oh Jonathan!!! That's funny...because even talking
about it now...would make it seem sort of trivial.

There's an old saying "don't talk about yourself...let others do the
talking"...and I believe in that.

All I'll say is that I believe in Random Acts Of Kindness...and there
are opportunities for us to help people every single day. Whether
or not we choose to do so...determines our true character and basic
nature.

You are sunshine and light, Mister Jonathan L.

Gaby Berlin Germany

GABY SAYS: Hi Jonathan, I will try it. ;) It's difficult for me in English!
But it is a good language exercise ;)))

I have spoken to my hairdresser, and I have spoken with some customers
about it.

For me, here is my result: today it is a good gift...
human's in their various
life situations, which would like themselves to communicate with others to
give an open ear.

That has been misplaced in the today's time!!!

For me in a difficult situation, to have a good listener, with seriousness.
I believe, that's more important then MONEY, GLORY and a THANK YOU.

That's my short story, Jonathan. That was a really good Q!

All good things to you J

Peace - Gaby

Tamara Naples Florida

TAMARA SAYS: I try to always practice random acts of kindness. I
will go out of my way to help anyone who needs help.

I gave $100 to someone for food and gas ...and knew that person would
never repay me...even though now he makes more money than me.
He has never attempted to pay me back.

I gave a Colombian man a room to live in when no one else would give
him a chance. He turned out to be the best roommate I ever had. We lived
together as roommates for 10 years.

Shawnrock Manhattan Kansas
www.myspace.com/cherrybombd71

SHAWN SAYS: Gee...why is this question so hard?

You feel like if you talk about it...then you're wanting the glory for
some great deed you've done.

So, I can reflect back on a few things...like maybe giving money to a
friend or stranger in need. Or, driving someone when their car is out
of service. Maybe...helping someone get a job...who knows...it could
be any of these things.

But, one of my favorite 'good deeds' would have to be when I've been
able to introduce a music fan to one of their heros. Through radio, I've
been able to do this now and then...and to see a fan...tear up or jump
up and down...is a great feeling. They are always eternally greatful!!!

Maybe someday someone can return the favor and introduce me to
The Stones...hehe...wink wink.

Andreassen, a Norwegian-born former nurse and midwife in 1963.
She took an acting

break into, so Renée decided to stay in Texas, and auditioned for roles around Houston,

Diaz, Bridget Fonda, Winona Ryder, and Marisa Tomei, when he heard of Zellweger's pe-
rformance in The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger and was sure he'd
found his Dorothy Boyd. In 2001, she received even more critical and commercial success
in the title role in Bridget Jones's Diary. She received her first Academy Award nomination
for her role, which was followed by her second Oscar-nominated role in the musical Chicago
(2002). Then again wowed audiences with her fierce yet warm portrayal of Ruby Thewes
in the film adaptation of Cold Mountain (2003), which won Zellweger an Oscar for Best Sup-
porting Actress, which was her first Academy Award. Chosen by 'People Magazine' as one

Sharon Manchester England

SHARON SAYS: I was 7 months pregnant, and also had 3 more
children. My friends daughter had to have open heart surgery in
Liverpool and obviously had to stay with her daughter. So I told
her I would stay at her home and look after her 4 other children.

I decorated her kitchen while she was away and when she finally
came home, I took her 4 children home with me for a few days so
she could have a little time on her own with the little girl.

I took no money from her.

Everything came out of my pocket because she had worries enough
without having to worry about the financial side.

It didn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

It did make me feel good but I was more concerned about the little
girls health that anything else.

Sadly, we are no longer friends because my good deed got thrown back
in my face .

So I turned around, greeted the ladies, unload 4 huge bags of golf

MEDGE SAYS: Well here goes. I have 5 sisters and 4 brothers and
my father left my mother when I was 14 in 1979.

I was the only one working to suport my sisters and brothers.

One day we had so much rain that a lot people lost their houses and
down the street from my house was this family. They were very poor.
The wife lost her mind when she gave birth to the last baby and nobody
ever saw her again.

The husband was alone with 5 kids under the age 10 and he was very
poor. He lost the house everything and they had. That day was my pay
day, and I used to make good money.

So, I saw the man standing in the rain with all the kids. I felt so bad I
gave him all my money to help him out.

I was so happy that I could help them. But, my mother was very mad at
me because we needed the money to pay the rent, but I lied to her and
told her that I lost the money.

This did not happen here in the USA. It was was in Brazil.

JULES SAYS: The kindest thing for the want of a better analogy
was when I was driving from my mother's house with my dau-
ghters in tow. On the way we caught sight of some kids, probably
no older than 13 hanging around suspiciously by someones front
garden.

My daughter noticed one of them was playing with a lighter so I did
a u-turn only to find that they had set alight to some fir trees. They
had gone up like a tinder box, with it being so dry at the time, and
the boys had cut and run (no surprise there). I promptly drove to the
back of the house and knocked frantically on the back door (by which
time my youngest was in tears as she thought I was going to be caught
in a fire).

An old lady in her eighties answered looking panicked. I calmed her
down and explained that she had to get out until the fire was put out
(she hadn't noticed the garden was on fire). I got her to a neigbour
and found someone with a mobile (mine was at home doh)!

Then when I thought all was under control and knew the fire brigade were
on their way, I drove off. I felt good about myself but didn't want the glory.
So I treated the girls (who alterted me) and myself to a pizza.

Jennine Phoenix Arizona
www.myspace.com/wacmagnet

JENNINE SAYS: As it turns out, my most warm and fuzzy feeling
helping another would be the one thing I thought I'd never be able
to face.

While still living in New York and before moving here to Phoenix,
my husband and I lost our first and, to this day, only child "Samantha
Jo" when she died unexpectedly. She was born still just 4 days shy of
my due date and I learned rather quickly this tragedy would insist I
face her death by using my grieving energy in a positive manner. I
started the 1st New York chapter of a Phoenix-based organization called
M.I.S.S. (Mothers in Sympathy & Support).

I began as a volunteer on-call 24/7 crisis intervention team of one. My
first emergency call came one night at 2 a.m. I was being called upon to
go to the same hospital where we lost Samantha. Upon my quick arrival
that dreadful night, I almost turned around and bolted out the doors as
I approached the huge hospital elevators to the maternity ward and began
to question whether I might have committed to just a little more than I was
able to handle at that time.

After a brief few minutes of deep breathing to control my shaky hands, I
made it up to Maternity and was met by a team of nurses and staff social
workers. They explained a young mom had just labored and gave birth to
her own stillborn daughter. They described her as shocked and despondent,
despite their best efforts to talk to her. I walked into the room where she
lay alone. Although it was so dark, I could see her eyes were wide open
staring at the ceiling, fixated and quiet.

I pulled up a chair and simply sat by her side holding her hand. I didn't utter
a word except my initial, "I've been there, I'm here for you". After an hour
(which seemed like an eternity), she burst into tears. I remained quiet but
embraced her as she wept on my shoulder and let the silence do the support.

I left that hospital feeling warm and fuzzy. I did not care to benefit from this
experience by any glory or monetary reward, as this cathartic experience left
me inner peace and a great deal of closure. I went on to become extremely
active with M.I.S.S.

Using my own experience, combined with my Masters degree Social Work -
trained skills, I began facilitating support groups for grieving moms and dads.

    Kate Hudson
Kate was born in Los Angeles in 1979. Almost everyone who has spent time with Kate
-including directors, family members, co-stars and interviewers - is quick to comment
on her ability to light up a room. Through some combination of a winning smile, solid
work ethic, and good old-fashioned talent, the young actress has gone from indie be-
ginner to Vanity Fair cover girl in just three years. What's more, she's done it all with-
out capitalizing on the success of legendary mom, Goldie Hawn.
She made her big-scr-
een debut as an ambitious young starlet stranded in a tiny California town in Desert Blue
(1998). Her next two films, while critically panned, made it into wider release: 200 Cig-
arettes (1999) (in which Kate played an earnest but accident-prone ditz) and Gossip
(2000) (which cast her as a rich, virginal college student). Perhaps Hudson's biggest
break was landing the role of rock groupie (or "Band Aide") Penny Lane in Almost Fam-
ous (2000). Named one of the '50 Most Beautiful People in the World' by People Magazine
in 2000. Turned down the part of Peter Parker's girlfriend Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man
(2002) for the role of Ethne Eustace in The Four Feathers. Started her production company
Cosmic Entertainment in 2003 with Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell and her brother. Ranked #99
in Premiere's 2003 annual Power 100 List. Rank #38 on VH1's 100 Hottest Hotties. Named

I'd rather not mention the nicest thing I've ever done; that's for

to me by a stranger.

A few years ago I was in a French shopping centre when my Mum
called to tell me that her sister had died. We were both in tears and
after I hung up I just sat on the floor and cried. A French lady very
kindly took me in hand and bought me a coffee and listened patiently
to my fractured French until I was calm again.

I never got her name or address and just thinking about her kindness
still brings a lump to my throat!

I do my best to be helpful and caring everyday of my life. My
parents taught me to always lend a hand when someone needs it.

Always remember your manners no matter what also.

When my Mother lay dying in her hospital bed a couple of years ago she
told me I was a good kid and that she loved me very much. Those where
the kindest words I had ever heard from anyone that close to me and I
will carry that with me forever.

So I think just being there for someone and making them feel wanted and
loved is the kindest thing you or I can ever do.

   Maria Bello
Maria was born today in 1967 in Norristown, Pennsylvania. She went to Villanova
University, majoring in political science. She had every intention of becoming a
lawyer, but she took an acting class during her senior year, just for fun. She dis-
covered she was very good at it, and Maria was soon cast in small off-Broadway
plays, such as "The Killer Inside Me", "Small Town Gals With Big Problems" and
"Urban Planning". She later guest-starred on episodes of "The Commish" (1991),
"Nowhere Man" (1995), "Misery Loves Company" (1995) and "Due South" (1994).
She got her big break when producers Kenny Lenhart and John J. Sakmar cast her
in the spy show "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" (1996) as "Mrs. Smith" (they remembered her
from her performance in a failed pilot that was a remake of the classic TV series
"77 Sunset Strip" (1958). The show was canceled after eight weeks on the air. Then
came a spot on "ER" (1994) as "Dr. Anna Del Amico", in which she guest-starred on
the final three episodes of the third season. The show's producers were so impressed
with her that they asked her back as a regular on the series.
Her mother, who is a can-
cer survivor, was in New York City with Maria on Sept. 11, 2001 during the attacks on
the World Trade Center. Since her mother was a nurse, she volunteered to help the
victims. Practices Muay Thai (lethal) kickboxing. Was hot as the wife in the dramatic
film "A History Of Violence" in 2005. Was also in "World Trade Center" (2006) and this
year in "Butterfly On A Wheel"

LAURA SAYS: Well, it kind of makes you take a look inside
doesn't it. lol

I live in a apartment building of mostly senior citizens and we
had a wicked ice storm this winter. I went and found out what
they needed from the store and got it for them.

I was their hero, lol.

I'm not really very nice. Tough question, I like it.

JEZEBEL SAYS: A random act of kindness: Once, when I was at
University in Aberystwyth, I was walking my sister to the train station
after a riotous weekend visit. As we approached the station, we heard
a small voice saying "Help?" I looked round to see a young guy, probably
in his late teens, leaning against a letter box - a post box, that is (I'm not
sure what you call them in the states).

Walking over, we discovered that he had his hand trapped in the box.
"I was posting a big letter and I reached in to push it down." he explained.

Looking around, I saw loads of people rushing past, muttering "Sorry, can't
stop, too busy" under their breath. The guy was panicking - he had to be on
the train, as did my sister, and noone appeared willing to help.

Oh well. I sent my sister to the station cafe for a cup of washing up liquid,
and then began smearing this on the guy's wrist. Inspired thinking on my
part, for his wrist was soon slippery enough to come free from the box.

He was delighted, embarrassed and desperate to catch his train. "Where's
Candid Camera?" giggled my sister.

"I dunno," I replied. "But if they are here, I'm glad they saw us helping and
not just walking past."

This last was said loudly enough for the people around us to hear - because
all the people who had scurried past saying "Sorry, too busy" hadn't been too
busy to turn back and form an audience when we did try to help.

OK, we didn't save the guy's life or anything. We did save him from an em-
barrassing situation, and we did learn a valuable lesson: not that people won't
help you out of embarrassment (we were already pretty sure that most people
can be unhelpful).

But, that it's a bloody stupid idea to put your hand in a post box.

Lula Hollywood California

LULA SAYS: I have recalled one: I was driving home from seeing
my dad in Beverly Hills. There was a lady a house keeper (I am
asuming) walking down the huge hills and she was trying to make
the last bus to her home downtown LA.

It was getting late so I stopped and asked her if she wanted a ride.
She said she needed to catch the last bus home. In my broken spang-
lish we talked and I listened and gave her a ride home.

This was a lovely night of selflessness. I thanked God for having a car...
and giving of what we Angelinians take for granted.

Another time I was broke as hell and there was a lady tranferring to
another bus she was short a dollar. I had none to give I asked another
man on the bus for a dollar and we helped her get home.

Together we can make a big difference in someone's life.

Don't you think?

NEW Q OF THE WEEK: "THE GOOD DEED"

WHAT IS THE KINDEST, NICEST THING YOU HAVE
DONE FOR SOMEONE (ANYONE)?

NOT FOR MONEY, GLORY, OR EVEN A THANK YOU.

BUT IT MADE YOU FEEL WARM AND FUZZY INSIDE.

(see yesterday for more)

Gina Bethesda Maryland
www.myspace.com/hatethesinlovethesinner

GINA SAYS: Despite my crotchety sarcastic demeanor on
MySpace, I actually try and always practice random acts of
kindness. I firmly believe in doing a good deed per day, even
if it's just a small thing such as taking a second to move a pesky
shopping cart out of a perfectly good parking place so someone
can park there!

I guess if I had to pick one thing that I've done - and I've never
told anyone this - there was a girl who went to our high school. She
was really an outsider. Her family had just moved into our town from
the country and they were pretty poor. She seemed nice, yet very shy
and not many people took the time to try and get to know her because
she simply didn't talk to a lot of people - even when they tried to talk
to her. You could just tell she felt really out of her element. Rarely one
to speak and definitely not one to speak first, I was surprised when she
said to me one day in the library, "you always look so nice" and then
walked away.

It was a little bit after that, when I would go shopping, that I began buying
her something too...maybe a sweater that was 'in' or a belt, lipgloss.

I would go to her house randomly in the middle of the night and leave it for
her on the doorstep. I did this for two years until we graduated.

I don't know if she ever knew it was me or not and it didn't really matter to
me, but it always made me smile when I'd see her in the hall and she'd have
on something that I'd given her or I'd hear someone say "I like your sweater"
to her...cause you could just tell that she felt good and felt like she was just
one of the kids...which she was....and it just made me happy to make another
person's life just a bit happier too.

SO there...kinda silly, but that's my story.
