Rockin Kimmie Roo Phoenix Arizona

KIMMIE SAYS: Hi Jonathan. Welp-- It's gonna be Sunset Boulevard
Hollywood, California for me!!

I would be supporting my AXE-- My Red Fender Strat- it has such
great action! The reason I would use this photo is in hopes of some
HOT band seeing it and wanting to add me to their group!! :)

As matter of fact-- I might just use the photo I have up now!! lol

Until someone can take a better photo of me with it!!
Takin' self portraits is for the birds. :)

Bizziebod Exeter United Kingdom

BIZZIE SAYS: Hi ya! I would be photographed in downtown
London as that's the only place in the UK on offer and be
advertising my own company officeaccomplice.co.uk

Sorry about the shameless plug. :-) xx

Shawnrock Manhattan Kansas

Sign would be in Times Square, N.Y.

This is what I'd promote.

It's the Gibson ES-175...we should all give thanks.

Mullet-less Mike Phoenix Arizona
www.myspace.com/the mulletmike

I'd want it in California. Somewhere
local where I have a better chance running into people who
recognize me from the billboard.

The product would have to be Trojan brand condoms. So not
only would I have a good looking picture up in a familiar place
where I'm seen by many but it would also plant the image in
many minds that I am safe to have sex with. :-)

Nicole Cheshire England

NICOLE SAYS: Defo Number 3! (Sunset Blvd.) It's a place I have
always wanted to visit and I presume with me being a huge model
I would get given free flights to see the finished product.

I would love the product to be Coca Cola, cos then I could also be
involved in a catchy soul theme tune, and if asked to taste the
product and look happy about it. I wouldn't have to fake it!

Unlike cat food or...

Why you always make me daydream boy?!

You know that if I was asked to pose it would more than likely be...

Steffers Concord California

STEFFERS SAYS: New York, Times Square. Pic of me having
fallen asleep with my son laying in my arms and the bible left
open on my chest. Images of guardian angels surrounding us.

Why? Because I feel a peace and protection since turning my life,
my will over to God...this in turn will roll on to my child. He is
always protected and hopefully will take the same path.

Why location? That's where the most people would see it and
perhaps inspire many.

John Burkeman New York City

JOHN SAYS: Times Square, New York. My drawings are the result
of anger towards authority and society. I want to wake up the world
in a half Irish and half Russian manner.

Some are sick and vulgar where as others are disgusting and bloody.
Enjoy them, because you won't come across the likes of them again.
If you'd come in, it's hard to leave unmove'd.

My art is not about pleasing you. I'ts to make you think about something
else then the small world call'd home. What inspires me? One word...
Guinness. hahaha

One of John's pieces

Gloomy Phoenix Arizona

GLOOMY SAYS: I would want to have my billboard in downtown
London. I would want to promote the numerious musical projects
of Mike Patton.

He has a laundry list of projects including: Fantomas, Peeping Tom,
Lovage, Patton Kaada, Patton W/ Rahzel, Patton and John Zorn and
the now defunct Faith No More and Mr. Bungle.

He's the most underrated singer of my generation. His voice is like
velvet one moment, and can shatter glass the next. He can sing any-
thing and makes it sound good.

I am making it my mission to spread his gospel.

Dave Canada

DAVE SAYS: I would have to pick N.Y.C. Because its a great
city, so it would be the best place to advertise.

What product would I endorse? That would be some kind of
Environmental Product.

Why? If I could help change things for the better I would!!

Times Square in New York City. Probably because it's the closest to
me and the busiest city in the world.

. Yeah maybe saying ..."It goes down smooooth ...like me"

Tamera Memphis Tennessee

TAMERA SAYS: Well...it's not a product per se...but it would be
a picture of me, probably dancing at a club, in some hot little outfit
and somewhere on this said "billboard" would be the eLATION logo (www.myspace.com/elationrecords), along with the words "music to
move you".

Where? ALL three, of course! :)

I mean if one is to get the word out, then we gotta go worldwide, baby!!!

Why? this is my VERY good and close friend, Maz Lunden's

of the way!!!

Tracey (aka The80sGirl) United Kingdom

TRACEY SAYS: Hey Jonathan! Well, I think I'd choose downtown
London, basically because I'm from the Uk, and I would endorse
some kind of nicotine replacement therapy - patches.

If they work for me they'll work for anybody!

Basically I think breaking the smoking habit is the best thing I've
ever done, and I'd like to shout that from the rooftops! Lol

Tracey xxxx

Marie Atlanta Georgia

MARIE SAYS: I would choose the product that has changed
my life!

I have suffered with migraines for 35 years and lost many
relationships and jobs because of them. In 1993 I was prescribed
the new drug Imitrex, and since then I have been able to raise my
children, go to college, keep a job, and find love as well.

I would want this on Times Square, New York City because I have
been there once as a kid. The pic of me would be great because
when I'm not suffering from a migraine I feel fabulous!

Joanne Los Angeles California

JOANNE SAYS: I'd want my pic and product to be plastered all
over the city (N.Y.) since that's my roots and where friends and
family would see me; but I'd also like it to be posted on Sunset,
since this is where I live, sometimes thrive and work.

My product would be a pill to cure cancer. It would be in the form
of alternative healing, so it would need a lot of exposure since the
media wouldn't endorse it at first. After a while, the pill would be
proven safe and effective to save lives.

One can dream, right?

Brenda & Dace Crandall Georgia

BRENDA & DACE SAYS: Hehe - thats easy - my husband would

I can't think of a good answer to this, cause the only
place on the list I've ever seen is London. LOL!!

Willa Ford
Singer Amanda Lee Ford was born on 22nd January 1981 in Ruskin, Florida. She
failed to capture the success of the "teen wave explosion" that others of her kind
were able to capitalize on. Her first full album, Willa Was Here, was released in the
summer of 2001 and by then the spark from the late 90s was gone. She was able
to score a Top 40 hit with the song "I Wanna Be Bad" however but subsequent suc-
cesses have been at a loss. Officially dropped from her record company in 2004 and
now makes occasional guest appearances on television. Was known among Back-
street Boys fans as the girl who dated Nick Carter (in 1998). Last year she was a
participant on the highly popular "Dancing With The Stars". She was cut early on.

extesion nails.

My place would be at Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood `cause it's
better for business! :-)

Jane Burgess Tempe Arizona

Hustler Hollywood
since I love that store and it is on Sunset.

DJ Tonton New Zealand

DJ TONTON SAYS: Gosh thats a hard one?? Picture me selling Bono's
bottled sweat. Can ya see me on the side of the biggest building any-

Or, on a convoy trucking company? Touring thru the countryside!!

I did go to one of his gigs and he leaned over to the front row...and shock-
his sweat over us girls. We were sweatin' so much I didn't care!!

Dressed in a boob tube and jean shorts, soaked and dripping from the hose
down we jumped on motorbikes to get home 25km away, in the pitch black
of night on the motorway 120km per hour.

about Jodie.

CHiLLi••.•´100%ReAL ..TheOne&Only (L) Denmark

CHILLI SAYS: I think I will take Times Square, New York City
for the place to put the billboard. And, I should be posing clothes
from Dolce & Gabbana together with Marilyn Manson.

Love D&G clothes even though I can't afford it. LOL

And, posing with MM bcuz I have been following his music for so many
years so it could be fun to meet the guy in real life!

Traci Northern Ireland

TRACI SAYS: Hello hunni bun xxx...It's gotta be Times Square
cause I'd love to sample New York + product would be a Nikki
Sixx blow up doll.

Cause that's the only time I'm gonna get next to him on a billboard
or anywhere else!!

June /Evil Barbie St. Albans United Kingdom

JUNE SAYS: As it would be supporting a PRODUCT, not a CAUSE
I guess it would have to be me modeling an array of FAKE FUR coats.

Though maybe not as warm as the REAL thing (a thermal layer under
the lining can sort that!! ) a FAKE FUR looks just as beautifull , infact
more so as the beautifull creature it belongs to has not been slaughterd
to get it, whether it's a potentially endangered species such as the leopard
or a sweet domestic cutie like a chinnchilla killed en mass for 1 coat.

A REAL fur may look beautiful, but the person in it will always look ugly in
my eyes!!

And you must have no soul to be able to look into the big beautifull dolefull
eyes of a baby seal and club it to death. To do that as a job you must be
dead inside.

Canada wake up ban it now!!

As for where and why? Times Square as its winters are colder and I think
NY'ers need to get the message more than us Britts, who enmass tend to
be more animal friendly, but hopefully the billboard would be such a success
that it would soon also be put up in the other two locations, plus others!!

Michelle United Kingdom

MICHELLE SAYS: Times Square, New York.Why?- Because I Feel I
have the quality to show people I care about my skin/and show people
how much it will REFRESH and SMELL so good on others lives. Make an

The product would be-'BOOTS PRODUCT' from UK-called

OH, and this product comes in soap. Has a range of products.....so it's
GREAT! Believe me Jonathan...bye for now.

I hope this will be a success. MICHELLE X

Kelly Taylor
Born in 1977 and raised in Houston, Texas, Kelly Taylor is one of the most well-known
faces in the Asian market. KT (or Sai, as her close friends call her) is an actress with
great versatility whose passion for the art of acting keeps her as a working actress in
films and television. At the age of 4, she confidently declared that the entertainment
industry would be her future. Encouraged by her mother, a business executive, she had
her first taste of performing in school talent shows where she often hosted and perfo-
rmed as an actor, singer, and dancer simultaneously. Her mother passed away when she
was only 15 and Kelly concentrated on finishing school and making ends meet. Kelly found
her inner strength through spirituality and it propelled her to being a successful Account
Executive, selling computers to corporate America. As she refocused on her craft, comm-
ercials and community plays followed ultimately leading to her being cast in her first TV
Series. It was during this time that Kelly's musical talent was discovered and was offered
a major contract with a prominent Italian recording label. Kelly turned it down to pursue
the film industry. With this in mind, she packed her bags and headed to Hollywood to begin
her professional career as an actress and has flourished in the Indie world. One of her pro-
jects include an audience of over 1.4 billion currently airing on CCTV as a series regular in
the Chinese national TV Series "The War of Gene" (2004). Performed her own stunts in "A
Happy Ending (2005) and received a minor concussion from the 'chick fight' scene as a result.
A chameleon who changes her look frequently. Her middle name Sayonara means good-bye
in Japanese. Kelly's first week living in Los Angeles: she got ten parking tickets.

Rozagy Birmingham London, England

ROZAGY SAYS: Dear Jonathan, thank you for asking me such an
intelligent question.

The product I'd be happy to endorce is Clean Energy (what ever that
may be, Cold Fusion, WindMills, Wave energy, Volcanic energy or
something else, perhaps out of Space?)

I believe the best place for it to be advertised would be Times Square,
New York City (the world looks up to the US).
Because it's the city of the
future and at the forefront of cultural revolution.
Besides, downtown
London is dirty and not cool, and the life in London is too expensive for
people to have time away from working all day just to survive to even
think about anything else.

But I could be wrong. I've never been to America, I only know New York
from the movies.

Roza xx

Anna United Kingdom

ANNA SAYS: Put me in the Times Square slot, and have me
advertising headache tablets - as a result of all the head banging
and air guitarin' I do when I listen to your show dude!

LOL...I take that as a compliment Anna. :-)

Diane Manchester England

DIANE SAYS: The place would be London as I live in England,
and as my work centers around skin care, the product I would
choose is a factor 15 sun protection cream.

I have seen first hand the damage the sun causes and consider
that a worthwhile product to promote.

JuliE aNNe United Kingdom

I Would like to endorse MOGANS SPICED,
the best alcoholic spirit EVER!!!!

I would love to be on display in Los Angeles cos it's about as likely
I'll ever be there in person as I am GOING TO THE MOON!!!

Q of THE WEEK: "IS IT REALLY ME?" continues. Look below

Brenda Lompoc California

BRENDA SAYS: I would have to say Times Square, New York City
as the place.

The photo would be a pin up for our troops. Posted on Billboard in
the middle of Times square. Something to raise awarness and funds.

Imagine if you will my services as a photographer donating photo
sessions to deployed spouses. Taking the best photographs and using
them to make calendars and the likes to raise money for care packages,
calling cards and the much more for support of the support of the troops
who are down range now.

In my husband's unit right now were there are only 400 service men and
women. Over 200 plus are deployed and more are to deploy in a matter
of weeks. Leaving moral and spouses to suffer the loss of their loved ones.

I am proud to be a military spouse, daughter, grandaughter and niece. I
want to help make an impact on the lives of those who strugle day to day
around me. By giving them something to cherish and raising money to bring
families and single airmen a piece of home to them would help touch the
lives of service men and women more then I could know.

Thank you for a great question.

Actually Brenda, thank you for a great answer.

Amber (aka Irish Eyes Don't Cry) Greensburg Pennsylvania

AMBER SAYS: I'd want my picture to be with brain tumor survivors,
and we would be endorsing life.

It would be in Times Square, and I know it would be fabulous. :)

That would be one hell of a picture don't you think?? Yes-JL

Nikki (aka My Space Addict) Fresno California

NIKKI SAYS: Hey Jonathan...Hmm...let's break it down here.

Sunset Boulevard is out. People in LA/Hollywood are too fickle. No
offense...but that's the true "Who Can You Help Me Meet" capitol of
THE WORLD. I'm not shallow enough for all that. When they stopped
liking me...it'd hurt my feelings. Besides...I haven't had any plastic
surgery...and I think there's some sort of rule or ordinance that would
PROHIBIT me from being on a billboard there, anyway...

New York is my kind of place. Blunt, honest and to the point. Love it.
'Course...that's the "What Have You Done For Me Lately" city...and
there's a lot of pressure in that alone. Additionally, I haven't had sex
with any professional hockey players or seen what's underneath "The
Donald's" toupee' so once again...I think there are rules and regulations
that would keep me from being on display there. (I'm not sure...but I
heard somewhere that Donald likes to give his own "Key To The City"
to all the models there and as far as I'm concerned...if that were the
case...that would make me wanna change my locks...if ya know what
I mean. Yikes!)

I'm gonna have to go with Downtown London. Why? Because I only
wear Burberry perfume and I love Led Zeppelin and Howard Jones.

And there ya' have it.

Debby (aka Living Dead Girl) Phoenix Arizona

DEBBY SAYS: Hot Topic, because I actually shop there from
time to time usually for lipstick or jewlery or something like that
and hey, I'm a goth.

It's one of the only places I will physically go rather than shop for
on the net. I rarely go to stores at all. When I do go to the mall
which isn't that often (I can go years without even driving by a mall
let alone stepping foot into one) I always find my way there.

I'd choose Time Square because it is known for its billboards more
than anywhere else. People travel there just to see the billboards.

Companies are very picky about what billboards even go up in that area
and neighboring signs are constantly trying to outdo each other. To me
it is the pinnacle of Western advertisment and would be a major deal to
be used as a spokesperson there.

Kate Moss
The troubled 5' 7" model Katherine Ann Moss was born in 1974 in Addiscombe, Surry,
One of the more controversial supermodels, primarily because of her unusually
low weight during the early part of her career. (she typified the "waif" models). Her un-
usual appearance (and possibly her willingness to appear nude, "It's just work") have, in
a very short time, made her almost as widely recognized as Cindy Crawford. Was engaged
to Johnny Depp at one time.
Was on the first issue of Russian Vogue. Was on the cover of
George magazine (April 1998). Net worth is estimated at 50 million (2005). Was named
"The world's greatest supermodel" by the fashion industry and other supermodels on Ch-
annel 5's search for "The world's greatest supermodel". Topped Vogue's list of "Best Dre-
ssed Personalities in 2005". Her former fiancée Pete Doherty ranked #2 in the mens' list
(29 December 2005). She is the best paid model in the world according to Forbes magazine
in 2006. Spokesmodel for Stella McCartney. Spokemodel for Rimmel: London. Spokesmodel
for Roberto Cavalli. Spokesmodel for Longchamp: Paris. She released her own picture book
called Kate: The Kate Moss Story. Mentioned in Jewel Kilcher's song "Intuition".

If I had been photographed with a
product that I support, the photo to me would not only be my
best but show how the product is the best as well knowing, the
product, for a long time and using it.

Telling others about it, know lots of people who trust this product,
sense it also come w/ a lifestyle/attitude, and yes brains!!!

The product I would endorse? It probably would end up on some wall
in England. Sense after all the product is GRINDERS STEAL TOE. One
of my favorite's is called Raspberry Swirl. They're made in England,
manufactured in England, and last forever. Affordable as well. I have
2 pairs and they're about 5-year's old and the sole and whole boot look's
brand new.

They are oil, water, resistant. Oh, they just do come in boot's/ shoes/
and lot's of other styles, as well.

However I think it should be a billboard in New York. Sense the word needs
to get out about this wonderful product. I have to order form site. And, now
stores carries them. They're a wonderful product and showed me marked
world wide at cost on net. If you would would like to see for yourself go to
Read and see for yourself.

NICKY SAYS: Eye-Make-Up WITHOUT Animal Experiments.

The important thing is...even more people could see this. So
much better for all the pets!!

Alba Bama! San Jose Costa Rica

ALBA SAYS: Downtown London, England is my location, and
my product should be Viagra for women. Don't ask why. ;)

Alex Falkirk Scotland

ALEX SAYS: You know Jonathan, this has to be the first question
you have asked that has had me struggling to come up with an

I'm not really an overly materialistic person, and no one city hits
me as being more desirable than anywhere else in the world. I can't
think of any product that gets me wishing I could be helping to sell
excepting something relating to the clubbing scene which I love.

I suppose I would be thrilled to bits if a top House/Trance DJ were to
request using my photo to promote some of the top and banging clubs
or gigs all over the world including the UK and Ibiza.

So that would have to be my answer hunny, because I'm just a party
type of girl to heart. Just as the dance tune goes, "My girl likes to party
all the time".

Luv, Alex. xxx

Obsidian United Kingdom

OBSIDIAN SAYS: If I was someone of any importance in this world
or in the public eye, I would love to do one of those anti-fur campaigns
for Peta!

You know the ones thats say "I'd rather go naked than wear fur." Hope-
fully I'd have my bits and bobs discreetly hidden behind something like
a bunch of bananas Lol!

I think I'd like it to be featured on a billboard in central London due to
the increase in supermodels wearing fur and making it more popular in
Britain again!

Hopefully it would jog the memories of people such as Naomi Campbell
and Kate Moss who once did this campaign and have since chosen to flaunt
this message by wearing fur again because it is now back in fashion.

I can honestly say I would only ever endorse something that would have a
proper cause in the world!

Kobé Tai
5' 3" Carla Scott Carter was born in 1972 in Taipei, Taiwan. Although the
ranks of Asian stars in the adult-film business has been growing, few have
reached the status of Kobe Tai. She and Asia Carrera are probably the two
most popular Asian women in porn, and it's a toss-up as to which one would
take the #1 spot. Of Chinese/Japanese extraction, she was born in Taiwan
and placed in an orphanage at an early age. Adopted by an American family,
she was brought to the US and raised there. She broke into the adult-film bus-
iness in 1996 under the name Blake Young (she also used the name Brooke
Young). Her diminutive size (5'3") hasn't stopped her from working with some
of the biggest stars in the business and she quickly became a fan favorite. She
took time off in the middle part of 2000 to have a child, but returned in December
of 2001, and is still going strong.

up on a billboard or side of a building in;

1. Times Square New York City
2. Downtown London, England
3. Sunset Boulevard Hollywood, California

Where would you want it? Pick one and explain why?
And, what product would you endorse?

DJKaleidoscopeKimm Louisville Kentucky

I must explain the product first. The product would
be my remix album or compilation of Industrial/EBM bands
and music.

While I think that it would be great to have the billboard in New
York and L.A., it would be most effective in London because there
is a larger audience of fans in my genre there. ;-)

Tori South London England

TORI SAYS: It'd have to be New York. Reason cos I've been
there and I'd be chuffed to have my pic up there.

I'd endorse cosmetics or toothpaste.

Helen United Kingdom

HELEN SAYS: London - and the product would be a Charity

It would be an advert for condoms in N.Y.C.

love to visit so I can see the billboard for myself and Times

home with them.

*Today ends two weeks-50 Bands/Solo Artists. Please scroll down entire page to
catch up and preview some fine musicians. I am pleased with the success of
doing this. The response was fantastic from both regular readers, and of course
other musicians and the one's I chose. A & R people, do listen. There might be
that jewel you are looking for.

This was NOT a popularity contest. Rather, it was a sampling of musicians that I
have supported on the radio, and some that although I might not play them, I
still believed in their music. I will do this again from time to time during the
course of the rest of the year.

Tip: Most of you have your settings on, so I can not download and instantly play
you. So, take a chance and send me your CD or CDR to;

THE LAST 5 of 50 of my Myspace Discoveries

Automatics Los Angeles/United Kingdom

TYPE OF MUSIC: Power Pop/Folk
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. I have dabbled with Dave Philp and
company a few times. Very British. Old fashioned Folk and Power
Pop with strong harmonies, and equally strong on lyrics. There is a
certain charm to the songs such as "England Expects" and the
more folkier title track "Brittania". Nice to see special guests like
Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), and Ian McCallum of Stiff Little Fingers
helping Dave shape the music he wanted to present. Great Melodies,
and a man/band with a long history.

Ayin Aleph Paris France

TYPE OF MUSIC: Art Rock/Metal/Classical
HAVE I PLAYED HER: Yes. This is one unusual young lady. Yes,
it is mostly in French, but there is something that draws me to
her. Maybe it's her injection of Baroque blending with guitar
Metal. I've only played her once, but who knows in the future.
Like all curious things, I will keep following what she's up to.

Yunyu Australia

TYPE OF MUSIC: Ambient/Pop/Rock
HAVE I PLAYED HER: Yes. She reminds me a tad of Claire of
Altered Images with a very young girly voice. Each woman
vocalist has their own style, and Yunyu is something special.
I have played her a number of times. My fave is "A Prayer"
(Baker remix), and I also have played "Fireflies". The latter
is not on her profile. The longer Baker mix of "A Prayer" is
more to my liking. More ambient. This young lady is very
signable. She already has a great package ready to go.

Zoe Scott Los Angeles California

HAVE I PLAYED HER: Yes. I have been very supportive
of Zoe. I believe her strength is in her songwriting. She
loves to rock, and on "Sundance" that is a good example
of Zoe's talent. "Planet Love" is also another. Just when
it begins ordinary, it picks up, with some very cool old
school guitar riffs.

C.Basinet Los Angeles California

TYPE OF MUSIC: Jazz/Pop/Electronica
HAVE I PLAYED HER: No. What a great singer. What a great guilty
pleasure. Other then "Yellow Taxi", I don't know if this will fit on
my shows. Cynthia is a traditionalist vocally, which is a grade A
asset. Lounge singer? Maybe, or maybe not. She has a soft silky
quality that I enjoy personally. I am waiting for her CD, and will
go from there.

January 11
Amanda Peet
Born in 1972, grew up in New York with her older sister and their parents, Charles, a
lawyer, and Penny, a social worker. She made an unconventional stage debut at the
age of three when she jumped onto the stage during a play yet despite this early start
she later studied acting more as a hobby than anything else. She studied history at Co-
lumbia University where a drama professor convinced her to audition for acting teacher
Uta Hagen, with whom she later went on to study for a four year period; during which
time, she participated in the off-Broadway revival of Clifford Odets' "Awake and Sing".
Voted one of the 50 most beautiful people in the World in 2000 by People Magazine, she
supported herself during the audition phase of her career by waitressing and with the
residual checks she received from a Skittles candy commercial. Perseverance and hard
work paid off, and in 1995 she was cast in a guest-starring role on the hit series "Law &
Order" (1990). Her feature film debut came in 1995 in the movie Animal Room (1995).

Ranked #44 in Stuff magazine's "102 Sexiest Women in the World" (2002). Named #87
in FHM magazine's "100 Sexiest Women in the World 2006" supplement. Her character
Jordan McDeere on 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' is based on former NBC president Jamie
Tarses. She and fiancé, David Benioff, are expecting a baby in 2007.

Birthday's today:

Melanie Hill, Rey Ordonez, Kuniaki Kobayshi, Saska ten Bateburg, Mary J. Blige

Crushed Phoenix Arizona

TYPE OF MUSIC: Metal/Thrash Metal
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. One of the brighter bands to come
out the desert. I have played them from earlier music, but after
listening to "Further Down" from their upcoming new CD, it's
like -wow! The band just sent the CD, so I would imagine you
will be hearing them quite a bit on my shows. They can vary from
soft to hard. The dramatical changes in the songs are a strong

Ali Taylor Los Angeles California

HAVE I PLAYED HER: Yes. Ali, who also is an actress ("Penelope",
"The Dark Walker", others) has a gutteral, urgent sound about her.
That's what drew me to her. "Til My Daying Day" was the song I
played alot, and also played "Adrenalin". So, Ali is going back and
forth with music and acting. Which will take the number one priority
for her? Don't know. I do know that I will be continuing to follow her
career. Ali...I do wear your t-shirt-lol Seriously I do. :-)

Girl In A Coma San Antonio Texas

HAVE I PLAYED THEM: No. I am waiting for their music via
Blackheart Records (Joan Jett's Label). I like their jangely
offbeat sound. This trio are definately indie rockers. Vocals
by Nina keeps it a notch above just the average all-girl band.
Joan must have seen a special quality about them. Maybe I
missed it on their profile, but they must have something for
Morrissey. Naming their band after one of his songs is rather

Making April Cortlandt Manor New York

HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. Even though my dear friend Willobee,
Program Director WEQX, Manchester, Vermont led me to this trio,
and even though normally I am not a fan of this style of music, why
did I play them? Was is because a friend? Actually no. When I heard
"I Wrote This Song" it completely knocked me out! It was a well cra-
fted song, in lyrics and the dynamics of the entire few minutes. When
it's been played (numerous times) it made the phones ring in the
studio. And I like that.

Shebang Orlando Florida

HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. Wow...these gals have a teriffic
sound. I just started playing them with the song "Still Waiting".
I can't wait to get my mitts on the whole CD. This foursome
are something to keep your ears and eyes on. Very signable.

January 10
Nadja Peulen
The 5' 8" lead singer of rocker's Coal Chamber was born in Germany in 1975.
Her trademark is her bright red hair. Her natural hair color is dirty blonde.

Is of German and Polish descent. Her previous job was tiling bathrooms. Her
first instrument was the drums, and before Coal Chamber she was in a band
called Tail. Played bass in Cypress Hill's 'Rock Superstar' music video. Nadja
has her own clothing line called "Crueltees".

*This makes 40 artists exposed so far. 10 more to go

Chloe Day Los Angeles California

TYPE OF MUSIC: Trip-Hop/ Goth/Pop
HAVE I PLAYED HER: Yes. Another early discovery from 2005.
Played Chloe many many times on "Dirty Little Secret", a subtle
fast paced Trip-Hop/Trance 5-minute song that recieved a large
amount of audience response. Then "Kingpin" followed, and once
again the audience responded well. Chloe came in a few months
ago and performed live on the Saturday morning show. She's quite
a charming young lady. She could go far with proper direction.

Spyder Baby Detroit Michigan

TYPE OF MUSIC: Industrial/Rock
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: No. But I can't wait to. I've been assured
as of this writing a CD is on the way. Fans of NIN and the like will
get off on Spyder Baby immediatetly. Vocalist Stevie is very much
living and performing that industrial lifestyle. It shows. Check out
"Watch You Die" and especially "Sex Action". The latter has am-
azing guitar solo's.

Ronny Morris Copenhagen Denmark

TYPE OF MUSIC: Rock/Folk/Pop
HAVE I PLAYED HIM: Yes. Ronny has amazing talent for song-
writing, and a raspy voice that sucks you right in. I've played
mostly "Windows" a few times. Although their are some songs
that won't really fit for my shows, I still like Ronny's music alot.
I need to go back to the CD he sent and further airplay for him.
He's a mood type of thing. Very melodic.

Susan Bluechild Dublin Ireland

TYPE OF MUSIC: Rock/Pop/Acoustic
HAVE I PLAYED HER: Yes. Another early discovery. Susan is
another talent that has personality that shows in her music.
"Sunrise" and "Rockstar" are just two songs that I have
concentrated on. She has made much stride in getting her
music across successfully in the past year. I know she desires
to come to America, and if she does she knows she has a place
to come and perform live on the radio. Maybe 2007 will be the
year she accomplishes her wishes.

Kung-Fu Grip Brooklyn New York

TYPE OF MUSIC: Screamo/Rock/Punk
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. I've played "Taking The Fall" a
number of times. Led by Anthony K, KFG is his baby. A little
rough around the edges, but there is something there for
the future. They now have a full CD available. I will wait til
I recieve a copy to further airplay. I look forward to it.

January 9
Joely Richardson
Everyone's favorite cosmetic surgeon's wife (Judith) on "Nip/Tuck, Joely was born
on this day in 1965 in London, England.
For Joely the theater and movies/television
must be in her genes. Daughter of Tony Richardson and Vanessa Redgrave, and gran-
ddaughter of actor Sir Michael Redgrave, she is the niece of Lynn Redgrave and her
sister Natasha Richardson is also an actress. Her real mother, Vanessa Redgrave,
plays the mother of Joely's character on the TV series "Nip/Tuck". Sister-in-law of
actor Liam Neeson. Is only 12 years older than John Hensley, who plays her son on
British by birth, she considers herself a sort of honorary Yank, having
attended boarding school in Ojai, California. Beginning in the 80s film became her life,
from small parts in Wetherby (1985) to BBC dramas such as Lady Chatterley (1993)
(TV) to today's Disney studio going to the dogs in 101 Dalmatians (1996). On Nip/Tuck
there is no trace of her British accent.

Birthday's today:
Maggie Rizer, Dave Matthews, Phil Lewis (L.A. Guns),
Crystal Gale, David Johansen (N.Y. Dolls), Rosalyn Kind, Angie Martinez,
Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Kiko Calero, Natalie Ebnet, Dick Enberg, Lara Fabian,
Kimberly Beck Hilton, Paul King (Blue Oyster Cult), Mugsy Bogues, Mai Oikawa,
Henriette Richter-Rohl, Sussanah York, Katri Manninen, Bob Denver (R.I.P.)

5 More artists I discovered on Myspace

Perfect Machine London England

TYPE OF MUSIC: Alt/Grunge/Rock
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. I first played them under a
different name in 2006. Name change aside, this foursome
rock! One Listen to "Perilous Temptations" will show that
vocals and guitars play a huge part in this very likeable
group. My thought is that the 'grunge' part is at a minimum.
I'd like to hear newer material when ready. Very signable band.

Kristine Sa Toronto Canada

HAVE I PLAYED HER: Yes. Only once though. I wanted to
see it would fit. Unfortunately it's just outside of what I
normally do. Having said that, this woman is a talented
singer/songwriter. I could listen to her all day long. A
'guilty pleasure' if you will. When you check her website
and profile you will notice Kristine has put out quite a few
CD's. Her video's are great too. This is not an unknown
artist, just one that I discovered through Myspace.
Look at Kristine's video at

Red Carpet Rats Nashville Tennessee

HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. I just found these guys who
have fantastic harmonies and a snappy uptempo sound.
Love "Photographic Memory" which I haven't played yet.
"Creeping In" which begins with a neat guitar riff ( did I
say neat?-lol) was my choice to introduce this band to my
audience. Nashville might be a 'country'city, but I've noticed
more rockers coming out of there. I will be playing more of
RCR as the weeks go by.

The Eden Project Long Island New York

TYPE OF MUSIC: Power Pop/Rock
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. Rock & Roll baby!! Led by ballsy
chick singer Maureen Stasi, I hear a contemporay version
of Heart and more. "7 Daze And Sidewayz" features power
guitar and Maureen's gutteral vocals. It's nice to know there
are still groups this good doing that familiar rock sound many
of you grew up with. Just an observation; Maureen (pictured
above kinda looks like a male version Steven Tyler (Aerosmith-
ya think?)*I recieved an e-mail the other night right after I played their song-
which means they were listening 3,000 miles away. I dig that. Wish more artists
would listen, especially if they know I'm going to play them.

4ft. Soldiers United Kingdom

HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. Very edgy Brit rock. On the tip
of contemporary punk rock. "Get Laid" is a song that recieved
many spins on my show. So did "Quebec" I Like Jim Green's
vocals a bunch. They concentrate on their lyrics which helps.
A very good sign. Also the small dramatics on their songs are a
plus. I'd like to see a full CD in the future. That would insure more
airplay. Cheerio!

January 8
Ami Dolenz
Last name ring a bell? Ami was born in Burbank, California in 1969. An only child,
she is the daughter of Micky Dolenz (Monkees) and Samantha Juste. However,
she has three younger half-sisters on Micky's side of the family. Announced to her
parents at the age of 15 that she wanted to be an actress. She submitted a tape to
Junior Star Search and won in the Junior acting division for the year.
Dropped out of
high school at age 17. Co-founder of KidPix Productions. Member of the Write Act Re-
pertory Company. She was unaware that archive footage of herself was being used
to make the CD-ROM game Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge (1995) (VG), until
after its release in stores. Yet she insists the game is "definitely better" than her mo-
vie Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings (1994), on which "Revenge" is based.

WEEK TWO: Final 25 of 50
Did I play them on "The Lopsided World Of L" on 98KUPD and 98KUPD.com?

The Human Value Los Angeles California/United Kingdom

HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. Turu (R) and Hiram (L) are two special
musicians. I know...they performed live on my show. Prior to and
after that I played various songs for a long stretch. "She" and Tonight"
are just two. But "Give Me" is the quirky song that instantly jumps out.
I've noticed they have a new mix currently up on their profile. I also
noticed that they are currently in the U.K. Seems as if they are getting
some notice over there.

St. Madness Scottsdale Arizona

TYPE OF MUSIC: Heavy Metal
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. Veteran Metal band that can thrash
and be melodic in a twist. They also have performed on my show,
acoustic. I will admit that I focused mainly on 3-songs, one being
"Arizona". The title song from their small label CD "Vampires In The
Church" is long, but sounds perfect for a show like mine. But "Arizona"
on the other hand is a natural. Begins acoustic, gravitates to tempo
and growls, and back again. I stated on-air that to me it is the "best"
song written about the state of AZ in my opinion. I stick to that. :-)

Sissy Los Angeles California

TYPE OF MUSIC: Rock/Country
HAVE I PLAYED HER: Yes. Although I couldn't play most of
her songs, I still can hear a talent. Sissy is one that could go
far. Her song "Fly Away" I did and still occasionally bring back,
is the kind of music that drifts from country to rock and has
gotten a number of requests and compliments when played
on my shows. She has an endearing raspy voice that brings
up Janis Joplin straight away. Although Country is not my thing
I believe if discovered she could be huge in that area.

Endgames Glasgow Scotland

TYPE OF MUSIC: Electro Rock/Pop
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. If there is a group that can take
you back to the early eightie's with that feel of Duran Duran,
Spandau Ballet, etc. this would be it. One listen to "Waiting
For Another Chance" and you will agree. The song I played
a few times was "First Last Forever".

Dina D'Alessando Los Angeles California

HAVE I PLAYED HER: Yes. Dina has a charming voice. Although most
but not all of her songs drift towards an adult lean, I still felt that one
song "Masquerade" was one that I would play alot, and I did. I did
play others but concentrated on that mostly. Dina came on my show
to perform, and she was awesome. She will be coming back on again
soon. Check out a song not on her album, her version of A Flock Of
Seagulls "Space Age Love Song" now up on Myspace.

Sydney Moon
Sydney was born in 1975 in Berkeley, California. She grew up in the Bay Area, her
favorite part of the world. After high school, she decided she wanted to see more
of what the country had to offer so she moved all the way across it, to New York.
After a few years she got sick of the cold weather and moved to sunny Southern
California where she got her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. Soon thereafter,
while she was dancing in Los Angeles, Sydney was approached by a Playboy casting
person and she went in to take some polaroids with her friend, Playboy model Sasha
Singleton. Sydney was booked for her first ever shoot for "Playboy's Sexy Girls Next
Door", one of the Special Editions. After that, she just kept getting called often to shoot
more and more for Playboy, and each time she had more and more fun. Later her work
expanded to include doing Playboy videos (like Playboy Wet & Wild: Slippery When Wet
(2000), Playboy: Girls of Hedonism, Runaway Bay Jamaica (2000), Playboy: Wet & Wild
Live! (2002) and Playboy: No Boys Allowed, 100% Girls 2 (2004), shows on the Playboy
Channel and much more. She was an employee at a frozen yogurt shop before entering
into adult modelling.

Birthday's today:

Robert Duvall, Charlie Rose, Diane Keaton, Leila Meskhi, Erin Lear, Amanda Hearst,
Kate Schellenbach (Luscious Jackson), So-yi Yoon, Pamela Paulshock, Kylie Bax

Did I play them on "The Lopsided World Of L" on 98KUPD and 98KUPD.com?

This wraps up week one featuring 25.

TYPE OF MUSIC: Sparks Tribute Pop/Rock
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. When I discovered Nico (R), I was
charmed with her ultra passionate version of Sparks "This Town
Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us". That recieved plenty of air-play
on my shows. So did her follow-up of "Amatuer Hour". Brilliant!
The Mael's are aware of Nico now. Her boyfriend Jimmy "Mod"(L)
of Elefant sure spices things up with guitar.

Derdian Milan Italy

TYPE OF MUSIC: Frenetic guitar driven old school Metal
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: No. I just found them, and will be
premiering their song "Eternal Light" this weekend on
my shows. Once I recieve more music, I will be bangin'
them quite a bit. If you like aggresive, but clean-not dirgy
Metal, than this is for you.

Indian Sligo Ireland

TYPE OF MUSIC: Melodic Pop/Rock
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes.Very proud to have found them back
in 2005. Played the living shit out of "Elvis & Spiders". Women
listeners gravitated towards the song big-time! I still bring it
back occasionally. They have newer music posted on their site.
Do check them out. Once I recieve an actual CD from them-more
airplay is insured.

The Craze Palmdale California

HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. I'm very fond of these honest
guys who can truly play. They did live on my show. Since
2005 and into 2006, I played them many many times, on
at least 4-5 tracks from their CD. "Baby Blue" will always
be my fave. They are getting ready to put out a new CD
in 2007. They have a massive women following in Phoenix.

Skumlove Los Angeles California

TYPE OF MUSIC: Metal/Industrial/Glam Rock
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. This is just simply
uptempo guy rock with attitude. I have played
a couple of their songs, most recently the in your
face "Disfunctional Doll". Their sound is developing
and they are a band to watch.

January 4
Beth Gibbons
If your choice is music in the background while making love, then one of your
first choices would be Portishead, right? The lead singer of the British trip-
hop group was born in 1965 in Bristol, England. "Sour Times" is one of the
sexiest songs of all-time. Personal quote;
"The thing that I'm into is the phil-
osophy of the music. I love the surprise of things, the accidents…just the sound
of a word, to try to express them in the best way, so that the emotion is totally
revealed". Over the years, the "PNYC: Portishead-Roseland New York" live CD
has gotten more rotation in the L bedroom than any other CD, with Paul Okenfold
coming in a close second. Beth and the trip-hop sound of Portishead is a totally un-
ique feeling like few can match. The band has had songs in films such as "Batman
And Robin", "Tank Girl", and numerous others.

believable Tara Rez, this group evokes the spirit of what

or at least records some newer songs.

among the other demos, the audience always rings up the
phone. I can't wait til they finally have a whole album available.

AbbeyVain Washington D.C.

TYPE OF MUSIC: Goth/Glam Rock
HAVE I PLAYED THEM: Yes. Filip Abbey (he) and Sydney Vain (she)

pain to the ears. I have played a couple of their songs, and will
continue to do so. For those who like their music outside the box.

Gypsy Pistoleros United Kingdom

apart. "Ay Que Dolor", and "Bandido" are great! Their CD will

than any other artist. She is special, and husband Fab plays guitar
with the best of 'em. My listeners have responded well, and she
draws many requests, and has garnered a small following.

the Top 40 tip, I still personally think there is something there.
